Hi, I am Carol, and I am a Support Coordinator from the Mackay region. I have been working in the Community Service sector in a range of different roles for the past 15 years. I take pride in my role and work closely with my participants in a sincere and timely manner to help them achieve their goals. My participants and family members really appreciate that I take the time to listen carefully to their needs and support them to achieve success and build the capacity to live a rewarding life.
My job satisfaction comes from obtaining great outcomes for my participants and seeing the smiles on their faces when they receive support and achieve their successes.

I began my career in hospitality after completing an Associate Diploma in Business (Hospitality). After eight years in hospitality, I transitioned to a role as a receptionist in a law firm and later became a legal secretary. Following this, I worked in aged care, community care, and disabilities, accumulating over 18 years of experience. Working for the National Disability Insurance Agency provided me with valuable insights into disabilities and their impact on individuals.
As a support coordinator, I offer high-quality advice, support, and intervention services to NDIS participants, including those under Child Safety or the Office of Public Guardian. My responsibilities include budget forecasting and managing expenditure of NDIS plans to ensure the needs of participants are fully understood and catered to, including culturally appropriate services and strategies. I have successfully managed a caseload of up to 35 participants, assisting providers in monitoring the effectiveness and appropriateness of NDIS support provided to participants on an individual basis.
I am committed to continuous professional development and skills training, aligning with departmental priorities and fully embracing company values, legislation, and service objectives, with a focus on delivering excellent service to participants.
