Jo Pengelly, Support Coordinator

Hello I’m Jo and I have lived in the Gympie area for over 30 years. I have well established local and regional connections in our community, disability and health services.

I specialise in Mental Health Support, having previously worked as a Support Facilitator for the Partners in Recovery Program and as a Psychiatric Specific Employment Consultant.

I have experience working with people with many different disabilities and am also a carer and parent to a young adult on the spectrum.

Jill Betts, Support Coordinator

My Name is Jill Betts, I have been working with Southern Cross Support Services as a Support Coordinator since May 2019, prior to that I had been working in the disability sector for 14 years. I thoroughly enjoy working in this role and get immense satisfaction assisting participants to achieve their goals. I am a local Gympie girl who has extensive knowledge of the local area, businesses, and service providers.

I enjoy working with both children and adults, and pride myself in being able to build a good rapport with my participants.

Michelle Wilson, Support Coordinator

Hi my name is Michelle (Shelly) a born and bred Gympie girl who is a member of the Gympie Team.

Prior to working in the disability sector I was a small business owner where I employed people with Disabilities. After selling my business I was offered a position with Jobmatch Disability Employment where I worked for seven years, before being offered a Site Managers position with STEPS Solutions specialising in Mental Health where I assisted my Clients into open ongoing employment.

Since finding my career in the disability sector I have found that I am driven to assist and support my Participants to achieve their goals, and develop skills that will allow them to reach their full potential in life.
